Caersws village and Roman fort

Illustrated talk on the archaeology of Caersws

Jeff Spencer of CPAT gave a very well received presentation to over 100 people on the archaeology of Caersws at a public meeting to launch the Caersws Community Welcome Scheme. Details of the earliest known human activity in the Caersws area were followed up with more detailed information about Caersws’ Roman past, with images illustrating the 2 forts, the road network and important civilian settlement that grew up around the later fort. The presentation was followed by several questions from the enthusiastic audience who were also able to enjoy CPAT’s virtual reality model and Romans in Mid Wales exhibition boards.
