41 Club at Sweeney Hall . . . .
Sweeney Hall, near Oswestry, was the venue for the monthly meeting of the Oswestry 41 Club on the 25th Novmeber. The group of 11 ex-Round-Tablers enjoyed their evening meal before hearing a talk by Nigel Jones on the archaeology of the Welsh Marches from the air. CPAT's large collection of aerial photographs was plundered to good effect to provide a wide-ranging talk which included local sites such as Old Oswestry (pictured), Whittington Castle, Wat's Dyke and Castell Dinas Bran, as well as those much further afield, from the ports of the Dee Estuary to the Black Mountains of Brecknock.
