Prehistoric ritual and medieval farming in the Elan Valley
CPAT archaeologist Nigel Jones led a group of 29 people on a guided walk in the Elan Valley, which was organised jointly by the Elan Valley Trust and the Cambrian Mountains Society. During a day of somewhat mixed weather the walk took in a variety of sites including prehistoric standing stones, cairns and a stone row, views of Esgair Perfedd Roman marching camp, and the site of a medieval hafod, or 'summer house'.
