Offa's Dyke Conservation Statement

To assist with the difficult long term problem of protecting and looking after Offa’s Dyke, a formal ‘Conservation Statement’ has been prepared for the earthwork.

The Statement indicates:

• An initial appraisal of the character and importance of the dyke
• The modern destructive pressures acting on the dyke
• The conservation principles which need to be adopted to preserve all aspects of the dyke and its significance for the future

The Statement is supported by the key organisations involved in caring for the dyke, and is part of an evolving management process. Comments from all with an interest in the monument are very welcome
