CPAT at Erddig Park

National Archaeology Week 2007
14th - 22nd July

Entry free for National Trust and YAC members

National Archaeology Week is aimed at families throughout the UK, and is organised by the Council for British Archaeology and the Young Archaeologists’ Club. For National Archaeology Week this year, the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust are joining the National Trust at Erddig, near Wrexham.

There will be lots of activities throughout the day, so there will be plenty for children and adults to see and do. The Cwmwd Ial re-enactment group will also be there all day demonstrating ways of life in the early medieval period, including fighting and cookery.

CPAT’s activities will include:

* Make and decorate Iron Age, Roman and early-medieval brooches

* Make and decorate Iron Age and early-medieval helmets

* Make a model Iron Age roundhouse

Also:

* Finds Roadshow! People are also invited to bring along artefacts for identification by CPAT staff.
