National Archaeology Week 2007
14th - 22nd July

Entry free for YAC members and under 15s, Ł2.50 otherwise

National Archaeology Week is aimed at families throughout the UK, and is organised by the Council for British Archaeology and the Young Archaeologists’ Club. For National Archaeology Week this year, the Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust are joining the Caer Alyn Archaeological and Heritage Project at Bryn Alyn, near Wrexham. Close to the Caer Alyn Iron Age promontory fort, Bronze Age round barrow, Wat's Dyke and other archaeological sites, a more appropriate setting could not have chosen for this day of archaeological fun.

There will be lots of activities throughout the day including reconstruction of a roundhouse, pottery making, cookery and spinning, so there will be plenty for children and adults to see and do. The Cwmwd Ial re-enactment group will also be there all day demonstrating ways of life in the early medieval period, including fighting and cookery.
