Caepant

Caepant (also known as Lower Eisteddfod) lies in the community of Minera in the county of Wrexham. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ25495245. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 104271 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Carboniferous Limestone.

Workings
Brunton Symons' Map of 1865 depicts the Caepant Sett as covering the two shafts that are visible at SJ25495245 and SJ25505242, to the south of Ty Newydd. The sett was worked between the Main Vein and Red Vein.
