Chirk Castle lies in the community of Chirk in the county of Wrexham. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ27003800. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18040 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

The Llangynog Mining Company made returns for Chirk Castle in 1861. No evidence remains and the geology is not conducive to lead mining.
