Clwyd Metal Mines Survey


Grosvenor

Grosvenor lies in the community of Ysceifiog in the county of Flintshire. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ18607150. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18086 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Lead/Silver (Early 19th century-1879)

Geology
Carboniferous Limestone.

Workings
The Grosvenor Mine worked the west end of the China Rake to a depth of 100yds. Evidence remains as shafts and spoil heaps in an area which runs on from the Cheney Rake Mine.
