PRN 8789 - Cwm y Ffridd House Site

HOUSE SITE. NOT VISITED BY CPAT site visit, 1978. NO FURTHER DETAIL.

A small farmstead seen as a group of two possibly three building platforms on a south east facing slope. The large platform to the north-west is some 10m by 6m. The smaller platform to the south-east is some 4m by 6m. The third possible building platform is further to the south east and is some 5m by 6m. The remains of a trackway can be seen as a hollow earthwork some 0.2/0.3m deep and 2m wide can be seen passing the site to the west. The remains of a number of small enclosures can be seen to the south with low earthwork banks some 1m wide and 0.2/0.3m height with one small section of single species hedge made up of three or four trees.
