Clwyd Metal Mines Survey


Hazel Grove

Hazel Grove lies in the community of Brynford in the county of Flintshire. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ17507479. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18095 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Lead/Silver (1874-1879)

Geology
Carboniferous Limestone.

Workings
Little evidence remains of this mine that was worked for only a short time in the 1870s. Shaft mounds remain in the vicinity of the Holywell Golf Course Club House, to the south-west of the road that cuts the Common. The area has been landscaped for use as a golf course.
