Nantymwyn

Nantymwyn lies in the community of Prestatyn in the county of Denbighshire. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ07708280. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18142 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Lead (1886-1876)

Geology
Carboniferous Limestone.

Workings
Trials appear to have consisted of a single shaft and an adit level driven from near Prestatyn Castle (Smith 1921, 41). Although no returns were made Burt et al (1992) document the area being worked by the Erwfelin Mining Company. A single shaft and related earthworks can be located at SJ07658280.
