Clwyd Metal Mines Survey


Pantywacco

Pantywacco (also known as Rock) lies in the community of Whitford in the county of Flintshire. It is located at Ordnance Survey national grid reference SJ14207650. The mine is recorded in the CPAT Historic Environment Record as number 18159 and this number should be quoted in all correspondence.

Geology
Carboniferous Limestone.

Workings
Trials were made in the 1880s to the west of the crossroads at Lloc. Little evidence remains at the NGR given in Burt et al (1992) of these two individual mines, although the earthworks of other mines in the area remain in close proximity.
